The science bit!

At speed powder snow behaves a lot like water.

Speed boats have a 'V' shaped hull – that's because it provides greater stability and a more comfortable ride, piercing wave fronts rather than bouncing off them.

Our board base has a shallow 'V' profile like a boat and works in the same way giving you more control and better, more stable, float in powder. The 'V' profile pierces rough, tracked-out off-piste giving you more speed and more comfort.

On hard pack the physics is different but the benefits of the 'V' are still there:

Riding straight the 'V' profile dramatically reduces the contact area between the board and the snow (ice!).

This is closer to the physics of the ice skate. The skate has razor thin edges to concentrate the weight of the skater on a very small surface area to crush the ice and form a thin layer of water trapped between the blade and the ice, it is this water that you skate on and its the same for a snowboard on hardpack.

Reduced contact area = more pressure per square inch = faster trapped water generation = less friction = MORE SPEED!

If you like going fast with more control on or off piste then our 'V' technology is for you. Our tech works so well we have a patent for it!

All Mahee boards have the 'V' profile and the central speed edge.
